Wednesday, we decided to go down to the Pelican Craft Centre in Bridgetown. We hopped on a bus and were off. Unfortunately, we got
on the wrong bus and ended up in Oistens. The bus driver was kind enough to get us on a bus back to Bridgetown and we made our way to the craft center. It consisted of a number of small shops making and selling jewelry, pottery, glass, paintings, etc. We were careful to get on the proper bus for the return trip to Holetown.

On Thursday, we took the Mount Gay Rum Lunch Tour. The tour bus picked us up at the villa and took us to the plant. We were greeted with rum punch as we waited for the rest of the tour group to arrive. After a short video on Mount Gay Rum, we were taken to the tasting room and given samples of some of their different rums. Then we went to the bottling plant. The rum is actually made at a different location and brought to this location after aging for bottling. After the tour we had a Bajan buffet lunch. Macaroni pie is a favorite Bajan dish. The highlight of the tour for me was that the bartender in the rum shop gave us several empty rum bottles, which we brought home to slump in the kiln.
Mount Gay Rum, the rum that invented rum, created in Barbados in 1703. The oldest brand of rum in existence.

On Friday, we walked down to the Folkestone Marine Park to go snorkeling. This is the park that we went to when we stopped in Barbados on our Costa Classic cruise in 1993.

We spent a lazy weekend at the villa - swimming, snorkeling & reading.
